Each week, unassuming unbranded boxes land on the kitchen counters of families across Australia. What’s inside fills lunchboxes, supports nutritious meals and fights food insecurity.
The One Box delivers fruit, vegetables and bread to families in need through schools and community hubs. Aware of the growing struggle for many families to buy fresh produce, The One Box was founded in 2017 by The Fruit Box Group.
'The Fruit Box Group was eager to find a way to use its commercial infrastructure for a greater good. We knew there was more we could do,' said Martin Halphen, founder of The Fruit Box Group.
‘We’re now partnering with 120 primary schools across Australia. If you feed kids, there’s a better chance they’re going to learn more.’
'When kids arrive at school having had breakfast, they’re able to concentrate better. Having food in their lunchboxes means that students don’t feel shame for going without.'
