Pay a bill

BPAY payment, Bank@Post, Pay Anyone or Osko payment using BSB and account number (PayID).

Pay a friend or send a gift

Use online banking to make a BPAY, Pay Anyone or Osko payment using BSB and account number (PayID). Send a gift card.

Send money overseas

Use our Foreign Transfer online portal to send money overseas. Pre-paid travel card.

Large payment

Arrange a pre-approved transfer (for amounts above $40,000). Temporarily increase your daily transfer payment limit (for amounts less than $40,000).

Pay an invoice or supplier

Use online banking to make a Pay Anyone, or Osko payment using BSB and account number, PayID or Bank@Post.

Decline in cheque usage

  • Declining usage of cheque books and increasing cost of services.
  • Federal Treasury published a paper setting out a timeline for the winding down of Australia’s cheques system.

We're phasing out cheques

  • After 28 June 2024, Bank First cheque books will no longer be issued.
  • From 1 October 2024, Bank First cheques will not be honoured.
  • This includes international cheques.

Start the conversation early

  • Contact the person you pay and organise an alternative payment method.
  • Speak to your supplier about alternative payment methods.
  • There are options available including payment by cash or electronic transfer.

  • No new cheque books can be ordered.
  • Start transitioning from cheques to avoid risk of cheques not being presented by 30 September.
  • 30 September is the FINAL day Bank First cheques will be accepted anywhere as a payment option.

  • Avoid writing cheques leading up to 30 September 2024.
  • Alert people who have one of your Bank First cheques to deposit it prior to 30 September 2024.
  • Securely dispose of your cheque book.
