We have a loyal Member base who have been with us for decades. Then we have our brand new Members, like James and Jemima who both joined us in 2025.

James is in his second year of paramedicine at Victoria University and Jemima is studying nursing at Deakin University. We shared the Bank First story with them both at a special location - outside the building in Bank Place where the Victorian Teachers Credit Union was born. It's where our inaugural Chair, the late-Peter Leonard-Kanevsky and 47 of his teacher colleagues, invested their capital in a shoe box and became 'bankers by night.'

Like Members who have come before them, James and Jemima are keen to make an impact in their careers and for their community. And they've decided that Bank First is the bank for them. We're thrilled to have them join us.

Our future is anchored in our Members and in being meaningfully different for those who work in education and healthcare. That means we can't just be 'another bank', we have to be something so much more. We look to our Founders and Members of our history as we work to do things that make us meaningfully different for the Members of our future.
