Verifying your identity is a quick and simple process. All you need is either your Australian, valid drivers license or passport to complete your identity.

How it works

Verifying your identity is a quick and simple process.

Upon submitting your identity documents, we'll confirm that your details match the records of our registered external agencies. Upon confirmation, your identity is verified.

We accept a valid Australian driver's license or passport.

Why can't I complete my online identify verification?

In some cases, your details may not match with our registered external agencies. This could be due to a recent change in address, name or other factors.

If you're unable to complete your online identity verification

You can either complete our Proving Your Identity form or visit one of our branches to verify you in person.

    • Use a white background to capture your identity document.

    • Make sure camera access is enabled on your device.

    • Capture the entire drivers license or passport in the frame provided.

    • Check that your details extracted from the ID document match on the confirmation screen.

    • Please enter your email address - for any correspondence we may need to send.

    • If you are having issues, please call 1300 654 822 and select option 3 and option 3.

     

  • The AML/CTF Act requires Bank First to verify your identity prior to banking with us. To verify your identity electronically, the Bank requires your consent for us to provide your personal details including your full name, address, date of birth, image (’live capture’ of your face – a selfie) and signature to our credit reporting body Equifax, or, ID verification service providers, Daon and Vix Verify, who will match those details against those held on their database. The Bank will then receive an overall assessment of the matching data which will be used solely for the purpose of verifying your identity, in accordance with AML/CTF Act. The Bank may also contact the issuer or official record holder (directly or via an approved third party) to verify document details using the Government’s Document Verification Service.

    An alternative means of verifying your identity is available using a documentation-based procedure if you choose not to consent to Electronic Verification.

    NOTE: It is an offence under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 to give false or misleading information.
