St Therese Catholic Primary School
One of our whole school goals is to create a space where everyone is aware of common school behaviors and expectations. We hope that in providing positive play spaces for students, more children will be able to experience success and have a joyful and positive school experience.
This new area will be for all students, but particularly those students who find it difficult to participate in traditional lunch time activities, like sports.
The schools Grade 1 and 2 students will, as part of their STEM studies, plan out the area. Senior students will then help construct the projects using recycled and new materials and it will become a legacy project for when they move onto secondary school.
The school is planning a:
Music wall
Magnetic marble run
Outdoor car track
Larger oval and busy playground areas can be over-stimulating and daunting for many students. Our new play space will give them another place to explore independently and form friendships as a result of this open-ended play activity.
