Strathewen Primary School
Our small school is working hard to support student mental health and wellbeing.
Establishing a LEGO LAB will offer an alternative space for technical investigation and play. This space will be particularly useful for students who face challenges around social engagement, anxiety and have communication difficulties.
The LEGO LAB will provide students from Grades Prep to 6 with the opportunity to connect with their peers in a safe and creative space.
It will offer an alternative area for students to focus on teamwork, problem solving, patience and experimentation.
The LEGO LAB will assist those needing some time away from the action of outdoor play, will support student wellbeing and school engagement.
The Lunchtime LEGO LAB will be open to the school's 28 students - not just those needing some time out - and let's face it - who doesn't love LEGO?
