Our Lady of Fatima Rosebud
We are a small Catholic primary school that has recently implemented a garden program as part of our curriculum.
Our garden is in the implementation stage and currently has no facilities for composting and worm farming. This is an area we are lacking.
Not only is it a great step in the right direction for our sustainability as a school, but it also provides very important learning opportunities for children including reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill, instills the concept if 'reduce, reuse and recycle' and it's our way of leaving a smaller footprint on our planet.
There's so much value in a program like this. Children will be exploring ideas, solving problems and challenging thinking - learning while saving the environment and instilling environmental values they will take beyond their primary school years.
Thank you Bank First for providing us with the funding to implement a Worm Farm and Composting System in our school.
The garden program provides so much joy and responsibility to so many of our students and to be able to improve our space and learning opportunity is so important to us.
